The Center for Innovative GYN Care was founded on a desire to offer exceptional care, safety and integrity by redefining minimally invasive gynecological surgery. Our patients recover faster and with less pain than standard laparoscopic or robotic surgeries. This is especially important in the age of “medicine marketing” when there is a significant amount of misinformation available that creates confusion for patients when choosing the best healthcare options.
FINDING A GYN SURGICAL SPECIALIST
Patients are their own best advocates. As more information becomes available online, it’s important to dig through the clutter and find a GYN surgical specialist who can handle those complex cases that other physicians may not have the experience to treat effectively. The CIGC GYN surgical specialists perform advanced gynecological procedures using techniques that are taught in fellowship training. They have perfected these techniques through tens of thousands of procedures.
The GYN surgical specialists at CIGC work closely with each patient to personalize their experience. During the consultation, a patient is taken through a thorough explanation of her condition with sketches of her anatomy and then provided with detailed explanations of her surgery options.
“The moment I met Dr. MacKoul all of my fears melted away,” said Juliet Anderson, Bowie, Maryland. “He saw the fear in my eyes. He was able to take away all of that fear by explaining to me exactly what was going on inside of me. He drew me a sketch of my anatomy, and he showed me the size of the fibroid.”
THE FOCUS OF A GYN SURGICAL SPECIALIST
Dr. Paul J. MacKoul and Dr. Natalya Danilyants formed The Center for Innovative GYN Care to create a safer, less invasive approach for laparoscopic gynecological surgery. They apply techniques such as retroperitoneal dissection and uterine artery ligation which allowed them to redefine minimally invasive surgery. These techniques allowed them to develop DualPortGYN, a technique used for hysterectomies, resection of pelvic adhesions, endometriosis treatment and other GYN procedures that uses only 2 tiny incisions, 5MM each, and LAAM, a uterine-sparing fibroid technique that also uses 2 small incisions, 1 5MM at the belly button, and 1 3CM incision at the bikini line. These are superior methods to performing GYN procedures that are typically done with more invasive open or robotic techniques.
