GYN Care that Has All of You in MindThe CIGC Wellness Center offers an integrative approach to treating endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain.
Experience care you've never experienced before.
Calling on the same evidence-based standards that guide our highly respected gynecological surgery techniques, The Center for Innovative GYN Care has created a one-of-a-kind destination offering non-surgical health care services to help you feel better—and function better—on your journey to whole-body wellness.
Our holistic services, conveniently offered by accomplished specialists in one relaxing environment in Rockville, Maryland, will be tailored to your individual needs. Virtual appointments for some services will add another level of convenience.
Your experience begins with a comprehensive evaluation by CIGC co-founder and noted GYN specialist Dr. Natalya Danilyants, M.D. Based on your condition, symptoms and interests, she will recommend a customized treatment plan from our professional services.
Ranging from distracting to debilitating, pain is frequently a hallmark of endometriosis, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, vulvar disorders, painful bladder syndrome, musculoskeletal pain, pelvic floor prolapse and other GYN disorders.
Our non-surgical pain management program is administered by a physician committed to non-opioid pharmacological (medication) therapy. The physician will guide you in augmenting your medication treatment with other therapies proven to help manage pain. These treatments include acupuncture, pelvic floor physical therapy, exercise therapy with an at-home component, nutrition therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. The goal is to help you gain long-term control over pain for improved quality of life.
This bedrock of traditional Eastern medicine has proven to be a safe and effective method of reducing pain from a number of conditions, including pelvic pain related to endometriosis. It can also alleviate anxiety.
Acupuncture centers around the idea that when energy, called Qi (pronounced chee), becomes imbalanced or blocked in our bodies, pain, stress and illness can result. To restore the proper flow of Qi, practitioners typically insert thin needles in parts of the body responsible for the blockage. This relatively painless procedure may be accompanied by other elements of Chinese medicine, including acupressure massage, breathing instruction, meditation and herbal and nutritional therapy.
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
When weakening occurs in the muscles and connective tissue that serve as the foundation for reproductive and digestive organs, a host of complications can result: urinary incontinence and frequency, pelvic organ prolapse, painful intercourse, vaginismus (vaginal muscle spasms), and pain in the abdomen, lower back and hips.
Pelvic floor therapy, conducted in a private room with a specialized physical therapist, is often the first line of treatment for the conditions noted above. It incorporates such techniques as soft tissue stretching, relaxation exercises, biofeedback and home exercise.
For many chronic gynecological conditions, exercise has been known to reduce symptoms dramatically by releasing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant markers within the body. This reaction in turn fights the inflammatory response that the condition initially triggered. Regular exercise also releases endorphins, which are naturally occurring pain and stress relievers.
The personal trainers at our Wellness Center will develop a customized exercise plan tailored to your condition and fitness goals. Through private training sessions, you will have the opportunity to conduct your fitness sessions in our fully equipped gym and via virtual sessions.
Nutrition is an integral part of living an overall healthy lifestyle. Our dieticians will evaluate a detailed record of your food intake, medical records, lab results and any relevant lifestyle information in order to create a personalized plan that can help you reach realistic health goals.
You will enjoy continuous guidance and encouragement as you make healthy food choices and lifestyles changes. Some of these changes may involve sleep schedules, fitness and stress management. For your convenience, you may participate in virtual sessions.
This treatment taps into the mind-body connection as a conduit to physically and emotionally healing from gynecological issues. Endometriosis, for example, is often linked with anxiety and depression due to its uncertain prognosis and threat to fertility.
Through cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy and/or hypnosis, patients will learn strategies to manage and adapt to their gynecological condition and create realistic goals and expectations in order to lead a healthier, balanced life. Private sessions will be offered virtually.
Your complex gynecological concerns deserve no one less than industry-leading GYN experts who only treat conditions like yours all day, every day. With a combined 44 years of experience, our physicians have performed more than 25,000 procedures and have had numerous research papers published in top peer-review journals.
Our specialists are also innovators, having developed groundbreaking techniques such as DualPortGYN® and LAAM® that use small, strategically placed incisions to reduce complication rates and minimize pain and recovery time.
Even CIGC’s facilities stand out. As freestanding ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs), they are designed, equipped and staffed exclusively for GYN surgeries and care. Patients can be scheduled sooner, often at less cost to them, in an environment more easily guarded against COVID-19 than hospitals.Make an Appointment
