Using the Safest Facilities

CIGC specialists practice at select ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), freestanding, fully equipped and certified facilities that are independent from hospitals.

At an ASC, your surgery will be an outpatient procedure, which means you can return to the safety of your home the same day.

Unlike hospitals, ASCs do not treat patients with COVID-19, their smaller footprint is easier to keep sanitized, and only a few patients are scheduled at any given time.

Our chosen ASCs adhere to the following safety measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control, state departments of health and leading medical associations:

State-mandated COVID testing, as required, prior to the surgical procedure, with provisions for rescheduling positive-testing patients after a 14-day quarantine.
Screening of staff members for cold- or flu-like symptoms and protocols for them to stay home if they are sick.
Screening of patients upon arrival and rescheduling of those with cold or flu symptoms.
Enforcement of 6-foot social distancing and wearing of face masks.
Personal protective equipment for all medical staff.

Telemedicine appointments are as comprehensive and take the same amount of time as in-person visits. How can gynecological issues be handled online when pelvic exams are central to most OBGYN visits?

Typically, patients who meet with our doctors have already had a recent ultrasound or MRI ordered by their OBGYN. This imaging can be shared through our secure, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform, allowing our specialists to evaluate the results. The imaging, combined with information about the patient’s medical history, symptoms and treatment goals informed during the consultation, enable our experts to diagnose the condition and suggest appropriate treatment options. In most cases, an additional pelvic exam won’t be needed.
