Integrative Approach to Treating Endometriosis, Fibroids and Pelvic Pain Includes Mental Health Services, Nutritional Counseling and More

ROCKVILLE, Md.Sept. 16, 2020 As women across the globe who suffer from common, yet complex female health conditions like endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain continue to face misdiagnoses, aggressive surgical procedures and – especially now in the COVID-19 era – delayed care, The Center for Innovative GYN Care® (CIGC®) announced today that it has launched The CIGC Wellness Center, the first ambulatory surgical center wellness program designed to expand access to holistic care for women in need.

“True wellness is about so much more than our physical health, especially when it comes to female health care,” said Dr. Natalya Danilyants, CIGC co-founder and advanced surgical specialist. “Now under one roof, women who are afflicted by endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain have a place to go to take care of both their physical and behavioral health with CIGC’s integrative care approach. We are not only improving access to holistic care, but we are also integrating lifestyle treatments to make sure that women everywhere no longer have to endure GYN-related pain – they can now live their lives to the fullest extent.”

The CIGC Wellness Center empowers women to take charge of their health by offering a highly centralized approach to female care. Services include everything from traditional pain management and physical therapy to acupuncture, nutritional counseling, fitness training and psychotherapy. Women can obtain these services either in-person or via telehealth appointments.

Whether a patient is preparing for surgery or looking for a non-surgical approach to help manage her symptoms, CIGC works closely to develop therapies that are targeted specifically at each patient’s unique needs and goals. The patient experience begins with an in-depth evaluation, followed by a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan. Patients also have easy access to a highly specialized GYN surgical practice to treat the most difficult cases in a safe, highly effective outpatient setting.

“Most women are not receiving the best care from their physicians for conditions like endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain – they are simply managing their symptoms, rather than treating the underlying conditions,” added Dr. Danilyants. “Unless we change the way that these patients are diagnosed and treated from the start, we will continue to see women from across the country and world who are experiencing debilitating bleeding, pain and, in some cases, infertility. CIGC is dedicated to looking at the whole health of each woman to make sure that she has both answers and solutions, allowing her to return to her daily life as quickly as possible.”
