Ani Transka’s approach to personal training is versatile and creative. Her strength is assessing the individual needs of her clients and tailoring workout routines that propel them on their own path to total fitness. Her own path is dedicated to enhancing the health, fitness, endurance and energy of her clients, who range in age from 10 to 80. Originally from Bulgaria, Ani’s training philosophy is grounded in her early years at Bulgaria’s elite National Sports Academy in Sofia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001. She was a certified taekwondo judge and coach, tennis coach, massage therapist and secondary school physical education teacher. Now a U.S. citizen, she has been a personal trainer in Montgomery County, Maryland, since 2005. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine-certified personal trainer and a Red Cross-certified lifeguard. Ani works with individuals and teaches boot camp programs to groups. In her one-on-one sessions, she customizes each workout to fit the client’s age and abilities. Several clients are high school and college athletes; others are retired people who want to remain active. With each client, Ani knows when to push and when to ease up. She can sense when a client is ready to move up the challenge ladder. Ani puts safety first, teaching her clients exactly how to do each exercise and use each piece of equipment properly to get the most benefit and avoid injury. She has a 100% injury-free record with her clients. A lifelong athlete, Ani is in top physical condition, running two or three marathons a year.
