Triage Registered Nurse – RN


The Center for Innovative GYN Care (CIGC) is a progressive, minimally invasive GYN surgical practice that requires the services of an experienced, full-time Triage Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient experience within the physician practice. The Registered Nurse will work hand-in-hand with the Nurse Practitioner and support staff to deliver excellent care in state-of-the-art practice facilities.

CIGC provides a detailed and personalized approach to make their patients feel comfortable and get them back on their feet as swiftly as possible.

The full-time Registered Nurse is responsible for answering patient phone calls, gathering information, and offering medical assistance. Our practice is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The primary job location will be in Rockville, MD, but the RN must have the ability to travel to a satellite office in Fairfax, VA or Chevy Chase, MD one to two days a week.


  • Oversee and maintain responsibility for nursing services in the clinic
  • Perform on-call phone triage
  • Exhibit advanced clinic-nursing skills by demonstrating technical expertise and competence within the established scope of practice
  • Educate patients on contraception, other medication, cancer screening, and STIs
  • Dispense all FDA approved birth control methods, antibiotics and other medications per Physician and Clinician orders and maintain working knowledge of all medications used
  • Review client’s medical history and identify potential contraindications
  • Adhere to practice policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints
  • Perform follow-up of outside referrals, and quantitative results
  • Responsible for the accuracy of patient information entered into patient management system
  • Educate patients regarding post-operative instructions, contraception and exams
  • Maintain a productive, effective team and worker-friendly environment
  • Assist with implementation and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures for designated areas
  • Act as a clinical resource for surgical clinics
  • Be willing to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge and accountability of quality regulations and standards
  • Be a pro-active team member in team development and problem solving
  • Actively and positively strive to contribute to the goals of the clinic and support changes


  • Must have current RN license with Maryland Board of Nursing or compact state
  • 5 or more years working in GYN; Experience in a post operative surgical setting
  • Preference may be given for medical office nursing experience
  • Experienced RN capable of demonstrating medical expertise in emergency situations
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions when information is limited
  • Experience with EMR systems required
  • HIPAA/OSHA compliance required
  • Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider
  • Must be professional, organized, and a detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Possesses compassionate demeanor and high ethical standards
