Medical GYN Sonographer



The Center for Innovative GYN Care (CIGC) is a progressive, minimally invasive GYN surgical practice that requires the services of an experienced, full-time Medical GYN Sonographer. The Medical GYN Sonographer will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient experience within the physician practice. The Medical GYN Sonographer will work hand-in-hand with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and support staff to deliver excellent care in state-of-the-art practice facilities.

The Medical GYN Sonographer will establish and expand the ultrasound program/department within the practice. The Medical GYN Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to diagnose complex GYN issues.



  • Evaluates practice needs by researching, reviewing, and recommending equipment and materials
  • Writes, establishes, and implements policies and procedures
  • Writes preliminary findings of the documented anatomy for an organized presentation to the provider
  • Performs ultrasound scans in accordance with provider orders and obtains additional measurements as indicated for the completeness of the exam when abnormalities are detected
  • Demonstrates competence in key procedural areas: ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and other indicated exams
  • Locates, evaluates, and records pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data
  • Ensures technical quality with scans and digital images
  • Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with state and facility protocols and standards
  • Explains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly before examination
  • Alters the examinations as needed to maximize information in response to patient conditions
  • Demonstrates skill in equipment set-up, utilization, and proper maintenance procedure
  • Uses imaging and peripheral equipment in a safe and productive manner in accordance with practice and manufacturers procedures
  • Observes and reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipment, performs maintenance as required
  • Ensures consistent cleanliness between patients within ultrasound room
  • Possesses knowledge of insurance codes, radiology procedure code sheets, and patient charts
  • Follows safety and infection control processes and procedures
  • Participates in daily start up and/or shut down procedures
  • Works directly with colleagues to room patients, manage patient flow, and obtain adequate medical information


  • Registered member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) preferred
  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • 5 or more years of experience as an OB/GYN sonographer
  • Experience with or willingness to learn to perform HSG/fluoroscopy
  • Experience with EMR systems
  • HIPAA/OSHA compliance
  • Current BLS certification
  • Bilingual (preferred)
  • Must be professional, organized, and a detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Possesses compassionate demeanor and high ethical standards
